How do you communicate a radical change to your game?

Hello hello!

At some point in your game development career, you may have to break the news to your players that change is coming… and not in a good way. It could be a release date delay, a project cancellation, sunsetting a game, monetization, a design pivot… anything!

It’s hard enough dealing with the problem itself as the developer, but how do you tell your community in a way that’s useful and good to both them AND the dev team?
